Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
This weekend I helped my family with a yard sale we were having. (we live in sunny AZ.) We had 3 wood signs that said ''Yard Sale,'' and I would prop them up along the road that goes by our house. And sometime after I went away, wind would come and blow those signs over, later I would check on them and see that they were down and go pick them up. I did this numerous times. I cared that those signs were up so people would know about the yard sale.
This morning as I was thinking about what to write for today's blog I came up with this...
(I think a lot, and I come up with some interesting stuff, so bear with me and use your imagination.)
God is the one who picks us up, I am the sign, and the yard sale is the gospel of Christ or Heaven even.
When God saves us he picks us up and props us up. So we can be a sign so others can know about him, after all that's what we were made to be. A light, someone who shares God's love.
When hard times come, (like the wind) and it tosses us about, and we feel we can't stand any longer, and we have no strength. We fall down, and a sign that is down has no purpose. God will pick us up we just have to call upon him for help, and wait for him and he will renew our strength so we can stand again.
See, without God we would be not be standing, and when the hard times come, who will pick us up? We can't do it, we are not enough, God is our one true helper, and only he alone can provide us with all we need for any time. And as we grow in him we grow our strength and faith for those hard times. So the next time a wind comes, we are stronger, and able to stand with the standing gets tough.
