Friends... Can't live without them.
The bible has a lot to say about friendship. The kind of friends we should have and how we should treat our friends.
Friendship is very important to God. And friendship should be important to us too.
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Proverbs 17:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
In my relationships with my friends I've come to realize it's hard work to keep up a friendship, it requires you to sacrifice you time, and maybe even your money. Having friends has helped me a lot in different situations of life. And has strengthened my relationship with God.
We should strive to be the best of friends. Give all you can to maintain a great relationship.
Friends will...
Help you... in trying times, whether it be a small or a simple act, it can make the most amount of difference.
Comfort you... whether it be a hug, smile, or even a phone call they can help you get through the hardest of days.
Pray for you... they will offer their support of prayer, for whatever you need. Whenever. Prayer is the best way they can help you. Going to the One who is in complete control of the situation.
Encourage you... to keep up the good work, and do your best in everything. They have faith in you and know that you can do anything through Christ.
Strengthen you... they will strengthen your trust, faith, and your ability to be truthful so you can have the best relationships. With God and others.
Challenge you... to get our of your comfort zone. To get things done, and to do them right. After all, the best things happen when you're out of your comfort zone.
Sacrifice for you... Give their time, and money. They will be available.
Accept you... they will love you for who you are. Whatever you do, you always have their friendship.
Advise you... they will give advice for situations, and help you get back on track. And although you might not like to hear what they have to say right then, they do it out of love.
